Roma
A city where the old meets the new...

There are no words that can describe the eerie feeling you get walking into the Colosseum, it's big, it's majestic, it's beautifully lit at night, it's empty but at the same time it's filled with a heavy sense of souls lost and blood shed. But then again that's just me, I'm sensitive to those things.
When in Rome do as the Romans , well that's so true! specially when crossing the streets. It also pays to get up early, specially if you want to get an uncrowded shot of La Fontana di Trevi. And be aware that the whole thing of tossing a coin in the fountain to guarantee your return, only works if you do it the day before you leave Rome and if you watch where your coin landed, or so I've been told by the locals. I tossed a coin the night before I left Rome in 2011, didn't watch where it landed, but I was back in Rome in 2012, and now in 2013, so there must be some truth to the story, not sure if it was the lure of the Fontana or my love of the country that keeps bringing me back, or maybe is the gelato! For the best gelato in Rome head to Giolitti in via Uffici del Vicario #40 you will not be disappointed.
