Pisa & Livorno

Today I embarked on an adventure with Peter, one of my classmates, he is from Switzerland and he works for the Swiss Train Company. Peter brought along another classmate of his, Daniel, a nice young man who works in agriculture raising cows and growing corn in Switzerland. We decided to go to Pisa and after that we left it open to a few possibilities; maybe head out to Livorno, Lucca or Viareggio. From Santa Maria Novella we took the train to Pisa Centrale.
I've been to Pisa before but I was looking forward to be able to spend some extra time in the city, as my first visit was a quick one to the Fields of Miracles and then back to Lucca. And since I've never been to Livorno or Viareggio, and I just love Lucca, all the afternoon possibilities seemed A-OK! to me
We arrived to Pisa Centrale and walked to the Fields of Miracles. You can take a bus but walking gives you the opportunity to wander through the streets of Pisa. It's a quick 20 minute walk.
For a Sunday morning Pisa was full of life, lots of people out walking, kids in the piazzas, and the cafe's slowly filling up. We really couldn't have picked  a better day to go as the un was shinning bright and there was not a single cloud in the sky.

After a very nice morning in Pisa, and after we waited for Daniel to climb the tower, we walked back to the main train station to catch the train to Livorno and have lunch by the sea. A 20 minute train ride to Livorno Centrale and a 15 bus ride to Miramare, we ended up by the ocean in an area filled with restaurants, cafes, and open areas for people to walk and kids to play.

    About me...

My fascination with Italy started in 2011 when I visited for the first time. In the last few years I've had the opportunity to explore this country, I've learned the language, I've tried to understand it's culture, and the more I know, the more I want to learn, the more I see, the more I want to experience...
