Florence is the birthplace of the Renaissance, here you not only find what's possibly the best and largest collection of Renaissance art in the world, but also amazing architecture, fabulous Tuscan cuisine and wines, great street markets, lots people watching at it's many piazzas, and if you don't let the touristy crowds ruin the ambiance, you will have many opportunities to enjoy La Dolce Vita!

The sights of Florence...

What's hidden in Florence...

Giotto's Crucifix at Chiesa di Ognissanti
You know that when you go to Florence you can see Michelangelo's David at the Accademia and Botticelli's Birth of Venus at the Uffizi, but there's so much more to be seen and discovered. Some of it will be forever in your memories because you can't take pictures in many places, but don't  let that deter you.
There's so much art to be seen at the churches, you can tour Santa Croce and Santa Maria Novella, but don't miss Church of Ognissanti, the Church of Orsanmichele, the Medici Chapels, and San Mineato. The Bargello National Museum and the San Marco Museum well deserve a visit. At the Bargello Museum you can find the Crocifisso sculpted by Michelangelo dating back to 1495, and sculptures by Donatello including his David . At San Marco you will find extensive works by Fra Angelico. After a month there, there's still many places I didn't get to visit, like the Palazzo Medici-Riccardi and the Capella Bracacci. That just gives me an excuse to go back.
